St Georges-Kings Music Academy

We are delighted to announce that the King’s–St George’s Widening Participation in Music project has won the prestigious King’s Award for Most Significant Commitment to Widening Participation and Social Mobility.

Led by our Director of Music Jonathan Pix, with Dr Katherine Schofield and Dr Esther Cavett, the St George’s-King’s Music Academy brings music coaching to children from state primary schools with a diverse ethnic profile in low income areas in the London Borough of Southwark.

Based at St George the Martyr, King’s Music students teach theory, musical instruments and singing, introducing them to the possibilities of music-making in higher education.
