Giving
Our Vision
St George the Martyr is a church at the heart of Borough, rooted in worship and open to all. We believe that God’s love, revealed in Jesus Christ, calls us to live with gratitude, imagination, and care for one another. Our vision is shaped by four values that guide our common life: Worship, Purpose, Togetherness, and Justice.
Worship
At the heart of St George’s is worship that draws us into the mystery of God. In the beauty of word, music, and sacrament, we seek to encounter the living Christ who restores and renews us.
Purpose
We believe every person is called to live with purpose, discovering in their daily lives the presence and call of God. Our church exists to help people grow in faith, wonder, and love, and to discern how their gifts can serve the flourishing of others.Togetherness
We are a community that values belonging. We welcome all who come through our doors and recognise that we need one another. In friendship, conversation, and shared life, we glimpse the communion God intends for the world.Justice
We believe that faith finds expression in action. Through the Borough Food Cooperative, our partnerships, and our concern for creation, we seek to share God’s abundance and work for a world made whole. In all these things, our hope is to reflect something of God’s own generous heart, and to be a place where people encounter the transforming presence of Christ.
Please consider giving to this vision.
You can give regularly or as a one-off through the Parish Giving Scheme. For more information about this, have a look at the videos below.

At St George’s, we give because God has already given everything to us. Our generosity is a response to grace, a way of saying thank you for the indescribable gift of God’s Son.
When we give, we are not just supporting the church or helping to meet practical needs, we are participating in God’s generosity. Giving blesses others and strengthens our shared life, but it is also an act of trust. Each time we give, we are saying that it is God, not ourselves, who provides for our needs.
Giving should never be forced or reluctant. It is something that flows freely from the heart. As St Paul writes, “Each one must give as they have decided in their heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Of course, generosity is not only about money. If you are struggling financially or living with debt, we encourage you to be generous in other ways: through prayer, through acts of kindness, by offering your time or skills, or by helping to make this a community of care and welcome.
In every act of giving, whether large or small, we reflect something of God’s own generous heart.

We are deeply grateful for every gift, whatever the amount or method. Each contribution helps us to sustain our worship, care for our community, and share God’s love here in Borough.
If you are part of St George’s and able to give financially, we encourage you to consider setting up a regular monthly gift. Regular giving helps us to plan ahead, support long-term projects like the Borough Food Cooperative, and continue offering a place of welcome, beauty, and hope for all.
You can give regularly through the Parish Giving Scheme or by setting up a standing order with your bank. Please email us Hello@Borough.Church for more details.

Gift Aid allows charities to reclaim from HMRC the basic rate of tax that you have already paid on your donation. If you are a UK taxpayer and pay enough income or capital gains tax, Gift Aid increases the value of your gift by 25%. This means your giving goes further, without costing you anything extra.
The most straightforward way to add Gift Aid to your donation is to give via the Parish Giving Scheme. This scheme manages the administration of making Gift Aid claims on our behalf and costs us nothing.
